Under the direct supervision and leadership of the Vice President of Enrollment, the Associate Director of Admissions Communications oversees the creation and distribution of all communications for prospective students and families from the prospect stage through enrollment, along with evaluating communication effectiveness. This position also provides project management for a variety of activities and initiatives such as electronic and print communication, social media and text messaging. The successful candidate will work closely with the College’s Office of Marketing and Strategic Communication (OMSC) team to craft messages consistent with Simpson’s brand. Communication initiatives will range from strategic to tactical.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, prioritize, manage and execute projects designed to meet student recruitment goals

• Manage communication flow strategies with Director of Admissions Operations and Technology to ensure campaigns are aligned appropriately throughout students’ prospect and application life cycle

• Write, execute and report on email communication; requires analytics, forecasting, segmentation and personalization strategies utilizing Slate

• Develop new outreach strategies and manage analytics to gauge performance

• Draft and edit copies for a variety of communication materials including but not limited to admissions newsletter, academic program information sheets and admissions website content

• Assist with the development of communication strategies to support territory management

• As needed, assist with recruiting events/activities and represent the admissions team

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Simpson constituents including academic affairs, athletics, advancement and student development to emphasize and assist with consistent messaging as it relates to communication with prospective students

• Manage Admissions social media platforms

• Manage the activities and priorities of all third party vendors responsible for assisting with communications

Skills:

• Experience using student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and communication technologies to recruit and enroll students; working knowledge Slate is preferred

• Experience with analytics and appreciation for data analysis

• Demonstrated experience with project management and close collaboration within and outside of admissions office

• Strong relationship-building skills, an outgoing and positive workstyle and excellent communication skills

• Understand the importance of effective communications and be eager to fully understand the admissions cycle as well as best practices in higher education

• Highly organized, detail-oriented and adept at juggling multiple assignment and deadlines

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 4 years of experience in communication and/or marketing in higher education or related industry

• Exceptional organizational and project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to work and think independently, as well as working in a team setting in a

• Excellent interpersonal, written, wordsmithing and verbal communication skills

• Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends

Preferred But Not Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in higher education administration, counseling, business, communications or related industry

• Experience utilizing data for assessment purposes

• Familiarity with prospect management

• Experience with Slate
