Job Description Summary:

This position will assist in directing budget services for Dalton State College and provide financial analytical reporting for auxiliary enterprise operations at Dalton State College.

Pay Range: $48,988 – $78,381

Essential Duties :

MAJOR DUTIES

Budget Preparation, Input and Analytics (60%)
• Analyzes, keys and balances new fiscal year budget
• Monitors day to day activities of the budget process
• Keys and assists management with budget amendments to the Board of Regents
• Analyzes and maintains departmental budgets
• Keys budget journals
• Check for and correct budget errors

Auxiliary Enterprise Financial Reporting and Analytics (20%)
• Manages auxiliary accounting.
• Reconciles flex account(s) monthly.
• Reviews and verifies commissions from vendors.
• Monitors the financial practices, policies, and procedures in financial reporting and general financial accounting for auxiliary units.
• Monitors expenditures and budget for auxiliary units.
• Prepares the five-year business plans for all auxiliary units.

Miscellaneous Financial Analytical Support (20%)
• Updates salary and benefit tracking spreadsheet
• Submit Pell, SEOG, and Campus Work Study funds through the Department of Education
• Collects and enters data for annual reporting.
• Prepares the ten-year cash flow and annual PPV reporting for all PPV projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND/OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

• Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
• Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Advanced Skill in decision making and problem solving.
• Advanced oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, accounting or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Professional relevant experience in business related field, preferably in a college or university environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and assessment skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in college or university budgeting or accounting
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and HCM

Physical Demands:

• The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
• The work is typically performed in an office.
