Department Summary:

The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 10 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Office of Student Development, Career Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Registrar, Financial Aid, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Admissions & Recruitment and Office of Organizational Excellence.

Position Overview:

Plan, organize, manage and direct the daily operations of assigned programs; review, develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures to ensure compliance; conduct research, analyze data and prepare statistical reports to support and implement best practices; provide evaluation of related program needs and services; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of related experience within an institution of Higher Education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel Services or related field; Doctoral Degree preferred
•Familiarity with student success issues in higher education
•Leadership of teams and diverse service units in higher education
•Management of budgets and resources in higher education

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evening or weekend assistance for divisional events

Provide strategic leadership in enhancing efforts to create and sustain a culture that supports the student experience and prioritizes inclusiveness in the broadest meanings


Responsible for the overall management and operation of the combined functions of all Student Engagement and Experience areas, including student leadership, registered student organizations and governments, new student orientation, graduation, international services, disability support services, multicultural services, student events and programming and veteran and military services


Initiate opportunities to engage with academic departments to further campus goals related to enhancing the student experience and inclusion efforts


Provide educational opportunities, programs and services to help further understanding and appreciation of diversity, social justice and the development of multicultural competencies


Partner with Admissions and Recruitment on implementing inclusive processes and practices to diversify student enrollment


Serve as a primary source of contact for underrepresented students, with a focus on advising, mentoring and connecting students to resources that will assist with their academic, social and personal well-being


Support faculty advisors and other key constituents in developing support strategies for historically marginalized students


Oversee the formation and sustainability of student organizations focused on social identities and other multicultural topics


Collaborate in the evaluation of campus climate for students, faculty, and staff and development of strategies to ensure that all students feel safe and valued for unique identities and cultural perspectives


Monitor and track national trends including climate studies, demographic data, and policy analyses, and seek benchmarks for success to assess the student experience and inclusion efforts at the University
