The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of image processing and cardiac MRI. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include developing mathematical models for image reconstruction, pulse sequence programming, data acquisition, and image analysis.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop novel 2D and 3D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques for detection of cardiac diseases. The successful applicant will also have an opportunity to perform frontline independent research, publish papers in the top scientific literature and develop research training for academic career.
The candidate should be skilled in signal processing, MRI physics, convex optimization, quantitative MRI, pulse sequence design and image reconstruction. PhD degree must be in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
