Perelman School of Medicine - Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics

The Department of Pharmacology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of systems pharmacology, neuropharmacology, pharmacomicrobiome, biologics, RNA, mechanism of pain, cellular therapeutics, immunopharmacology, and/or mechanisms of immune-based drugs. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching students in the School of Medicine medical and/or graduate programs.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include directing a research laboratory in the stated scientific area (e.g. circadian and sleep biology), performing high impact and national recognized scientific research. These efforts will include publishing and presenting research findings at national and international meetings, seeking and successfully obtaining external research funding (i.e. NIH grants) and training graduate students and post doctoral fellows in the laboratory. The candidate is expected to establish a vibrant, impactful and collaborative research program.
The individual is expected to exhibit a high degree of scholarship indicated by high impact publications and presentation of research findings at peer academic institutions as well as national and international scientific meetings. Qualified individuals will exhibit creativity in the application of cutting-edge techniques and approaches to advance their scientific progress.
The position includes a competitive salary, high-quality laboratory space and start-up funding. It is expected that the candidates chosen will establish an independent, extramurally funded research program.
