Position Description:
Under the direction of the Maintenance & Alterations (M&A) Department - Hospital Zone (HK) Managers and HK Superintendent, incumbent performs the full range of journey level functions of an Electrician in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (RRUMC), Center for Health Sciences Complex (CHS), Peter Morton Building (200 Medical Plaza), 300 Medical Plaza, Tiverton Guest House, Wasserman Building, and the West Medical Building, such as service, test, repair, install and maintain various electrical systems and equipment to achieve maximum performance and efficiency of operations on a daily basis. Perform mandatory maintenance and testing of equipment and maintain documentation. Troubleshoot, inspect for malfunctions, repair complicated electrical and electro-mechanical devices, and other circuits. Install, inspect, replace or repair major control devices, power circuits, panel boards, circuit breakers, contacts, coils, relays, linkages, fuses and wiring. Install conduits, switches, receptacles, contactors and design modifications to existing control circuits where necessary. Submit trouble tickets to Supervisor, complete material transfer forms, maintain recordkeeping of hours worked on each job. Assist with developing and reviewing estimates. Operate and maintain a variety of power and hand tools. Clean-up job site and assure good safety practices are observed on the job site and that tools and equipment are used with caution. Responsible for communicating job-related problems to appropriate supervisory levels in order to resolve on-site job concerns.
