Administrative Specialist II - Academic & Student Affairs

The Tickle College of Engineering, Office of the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a full-time Administrative Specialist II.  This position provides direct administrative support to the Assoc Dean of Academic Affairs (ASA) for all student related matters both at the graduate and undergraduate level.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Leading the TCE scholarship committee on behalf of the Associate Dean
Overseeing and daily management of all college scholarship matters
Serves as liaison between the college and constituents of the college for all student matters 
Manages drop in requests for ASA matters
First point of contact for all student matters
Provides reception duties and program information for students, university staff, external constituents, and campus visitors
Answers phone, greets office visitors, maintains and monitors office email and departmental budget
Coordinates lunches, events and handles related expenses for the Associate Dean

REQUIRED:

An Associate’s degree is required in related field or equivalent related experience. One to three years of office experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Also required are advanced skills using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).  

PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, psychology or communication. Experience in higher education and working with students and families. Experience with financial aid or scholarship award processes is also preferred.
