The Enterprise System Administrator provides development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of technology solutions using the Ellucian Banner suite of products and other related systems. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position will provide primary support and development of technology solutions for one or more functional areas (e.g., Admissions, Registration, Student Financials, Financial Aid, Finance, HR). In particular, the individual supports the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the University's application software and serves as a liaison between the University departments and Information Technology. This position will work closely with functional users/areas to test new features, develop best practices, implement new enhancements, design and implement required customizations, and develop procedures using KSU policies and procedures. The Enterprise System Administrator is a key position in the implementation and ongoing success of mission-critical information technology systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Serves as the technical lead for one or more of the Ellucian Banner suite of products and other related systems. Implements and provides support for the operation, maintenance and enhancement of the University's Ellucian Banner suite of products.Works closely and collaboratively with various University departments to understand technical, testing, training and reporting needs as it relates to the Ellucian Banner suite of products and associated systems.Provides input into the business practices of various functional units as required.Assists in resolving any technical or operational issues that may arise within the Ellucian Banner suite of products and other related systems.Works collaboratively with IT staff and other departments to establish test and production schedules for implementation of the Ellucian Banner enhancements.Assists in ensuring the Ellucian Banner system is in compliance with regulatory requirements, campus processes and procedures.Maintains data integrity and assists in the development of quality control.Works with external vendors and functional areas to create new interfaces or intergrations and maintain existing ones.Ensures that department staff have the correct security access to functions within the Ellucian Banner suite of products.Assists in automating of processes. Assists in implementing and maintaining best practices for the Ellucian Banner suite of products.Works with the functional areas to understand business processes and then works to help the users become more efficient and effective in using Ellucian Banner suite of products and associated systems.Assists with the creation and maintenance of documentation of Ellucian Banner suite of products and associated systems.Provides end-user training of the Ellucian Banner suite of products and associated systems.Other duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of significant experience in higher education working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System and Ellucian Banner suite of products. Ten years of advanced technical on the job experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems may substitute for the Ellucian Banner suite of products experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:Proficient in Oracle SQL and/or other data related reporting tools.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Experience troubleshooting advanced performance and functionality issues with Ellucian Banner suite of products.Experience in developing and maintaining clear and concise procedural and issue resolution documentation.Ability to handle a large volume of work and effectively multi-task in a deadline oriented environment.Self-motivated and disciplined to accomplish goals with a strong sense of responsibility.Strong attention to detail and accuracy; good judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.Maintains a strong, positive commitment to customer service.Familiar with ITIL practices. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
:Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.No or very limited physical effort required.No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
