Perform statistical analysis under the supervision of PhD level biostatisticians, and in some cases independently, for clinical trials, epidemiologic studies, and laboratory experiments in ophthalmology and other biomedical areas. Use statistical software packages for the analysis with some programming to transform collected data into variables suited for analysis. Write summaries of results and statistical methods for manuscripts and study reports and document programming.Job Description
Biostatistician
Perform the following duties under the supervision of PhD level biostatisticians and in some cases independently.
Conduct appropriate statistical analysis under the supervision of faculty biostatisticians. Applications in multicenter clinical trials, medical claim or HER data, as well as single center/laboratory projects in ophthalmic research.
Design, test, implement and document statistical computer programming in high level statistical software packages (SAS, R)
Develop short term project-specific biostatistics design and analysis plans under the supervision of faculty biostatisticians
Meet with collaborative teams of investigators and senior biostatisticians
Develop, document and maintain analytic data files
Write summary reports and create graphs for manuscripts and proposals
Write and edit statistical methods sections of manuscripts
Develop working knowledge of methodologic issues in ophthalmic research
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position is contingent upon funding
Minimum job qualifications for the role: Master's Degree and Minimum of 3 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
