Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking a multi-faceted Audio-Visual Engineer to join our vibrant and growing team. The Audio-Visual Engineer assists the design and audio/visual approach in learning spaces for Georgia State University and the Center for Instructional Innovation. This position provides an introductory understanding to complex issues that surround the design and implementation of learning environments. Knowledge within this position includes both the technologies associated as well as modern pedagogical practices within learning environments.

 

The Audio-Visual Engineer supports the interactions between technical support issues, design best practices, and customer requirements. This position is responsible for staying abreast of emerging technologies and how those technologies can be applied into new instructional scenarios within learning spaces.  The scope responsibility will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following,

 

Responsibilities of this position include:

Administer and configure the campus-wide learning space management tools such as Extron Global Viewer Enterprise and Crestron Roomview Fusion software.

Command advanced audio/visual technologies including Extron/Crestron programming and configuration.

Coordinate installation and renovation of learning environments with major campus groups such as class registration and facilities management.

Develop knowledge reports of learning environments to understand trends and possible opportunities to influence future designs.

Develop project schedule elements in coordination with campus partners.

Lead the discussion of holistic design principles within learning environments including the convergence of technology and environmental solutions for pedagogical best practices.

Research and develop new interactions between emerging technologies to create learning solutions for instructors and researchers.

QualificationsBachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
