Georgia State University’s Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Online Education (CETLOE - cetloe.gsu.edu) is looking for two (2) skilled Application Developer, Intermediates. These positions will be responsible for the development, implementation, and/or maintenance of applications designed to improve the teaching and learning experience. The application developer, intermediates are members of a team that works collaboratively with various stakeholders at the university and with external partners to develop applications that contribute to the success of students. The intermediate position must possess the ability to communicate with stakeholders, customers, and peers on a technical and non-technical basis.
Participate in all phases of software development life-cycle including:
Requirements analysisFormulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding. Includes analysis and documentation of teaching and learning processes and functional requirements. Consults with department experts as it relates to the teaching and learning implications of the application. Assesses and determines impact of the technology to the teaching and learning environment. Design developmentTranslates functional requirements and prepares detailed specifications from which applications will be written. Work products may include feasibility studies, white papers, time/cost estimates, etc. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. DeploymentConfers with stakeholders and customers to create and implement deployment plans. Advises on best practices for deploying applications. Assists and advises on end-user training. MaintenanceResponds to customer reports of problems, system performance anomalies, and /or general inquiries. Performs troubleshooting and design, programming, and testing. Serve as a project resource: Collaborates with leadership and lead developers to make decisions on project tasks. Makes recommendations on policy and procedure, internal business processes, priorities, and problems. Serves as a mentor: Assists with instructing, directing, training, and advising graduate and undergraduate student workers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
