About the Department:

The purpose of the Department of Registration and Records is to provide academic services to current and former students, faculty, staff and the public while maintaining the security and integrity of the university’s academic data. The department serves as the data steward for all academic data and is therefore responsible for developing efficient and effective systems for collection, storage, update and distribution of data affecting all of the University’s academic functions.

Essential Job Duties:

The position is responsible for IT purchasing and setup for the department of Registration and Records. Maintain the department/divisions system licenses and access. Produce and distribute the weekly Data Processing Schedule linking system processing to student term dates to ensure that critical system processing is completed as required. Serve as the tier one point of contact for university personnel regarding SIS related issues. Perform ongoing testing of SIS and other systems as needed. Understand security set-up in SIS to assist the Technology Support Specialist position during peak times. Oversight of the design, development and implementation of Slate Applications for NDS, Readmission and C3 programs. Lan-tech duties for Joyner Visitor center and all division wide technology security training and updates.

Other Responsibilities:

Assists in answering departmental phone calls and email issues/questions. Participates in new student orientation and university commencement ceremonies.

Minimum Experience/Education:

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of or ability to learn SIS

Knowledge of or ability to learn university policies and procedures governing the update of student data

Knowledge of or the ability to learn federal and state laws governing student records.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and experience with integrating new technologies.

Experience with computer hardware
