Position Title:Assistant Dean of Students - Community Values & Restorative Practices
Position Summary:The Assistant Dean of Students supports the Director of Community Values & Restorative Practices in the management of day-to-day operations of the department receiving and processing alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct, providing information to students about the conduct process and their options, resolving incident reports, and advising and training the various boards responsible for providing formal conduct hearings. The Assistant Dean serves as an important team member of the Dean of Student’s staff providing general student support, counseling and advising students, and communicating with faculty and parents when appropriate.
Required Qualifications:•Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, or related field by the start of employment.
•Expertise in providing counsel to students
•Expertise in problem solving and referral skills.
•Track record of success at programming, presentation skills
•Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
•Demonstrated computer and technological skills.
•Experience working within a diverse setting with faculty, student affairs staff, students and family members.
•Experience working in a higher education setting
• Experience working in the area of student conduct administration
•Demonstrated interest and/or experience non-traditional and alternative dispute strategies for resolution of conflict.
