Lecturer - Energy and Resources Group

The Energy and Resources Group (ERG) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in the areas of energy and resources from a wide variety of disciplines, should an opening arise. ERG has a long and distinguished history of interdisciplinary research and teaching for a sustainable environment and an equitable society. The Energy and Resources Group is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching or research. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Appointments are typically part-time and may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.

General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.

Basic Qualifications: Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) granting program at the time of application.

Additional Qualifications: Ph.D., or equivalent international degree, is required by the start date of the job.

Preferred Qualifications: College-level teaching experience is preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Applications are typically reviewed for fall course needs in April/May, for spring course needs in October/November, and for summer session course needs in January/February. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all 2020 Summer Sessions face-to-face classes will be offered via remote (non-face-to-face) delivery. Those interested in remaining in the pool after May 11, 2021 will need to reapply.
