Lecturer Pool - Residential and Online Instruction - School of Public Health
The School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley invites applicants to a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach courses in residential and online education formats, which includes Fall and Spring classroom instruction, On-Campus/Online Master of Public Health (OOMPH) online education program, the UCB/UCSF Joint Medical Program, and Berkeley Summer Sessions. Screening of applicants is ongoing and the number of available positions vary throughout the year. The positions are part-time, with a work effort often ranging from 17% to 33%; Berkeley Summer Sessions is paid on a by-agreement basis.
The lecturer pool will remain open until February 1, 2021 to accommodate the School's instructional need. Only completed applications are reviewed and the hiring committee will contact candidates under consideration. All Lecturer positions are governed by the policies of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the UC-AFT union.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include developing and/or preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus, OOMPH videos, etc.), holding office/discussion hours, assessing student work and assigning grades, advising students, responding to email, maintaining a course website.

Salary commensurate with prior college-level teaching experience, professional experience, and degree currently held. On the MOU salary scale, the current minimum academic annual full-time rate is $56,381. Salary will be prorated based on the work effort and duration of appointment. Berkeley Summer Sessions appointments are paid by-agreement per session.
