Job Description

The Research Assistant shall oversee standup of the following two projects:

Project I – Electroplating Non-Metallics

(a) co-develop the processes for electroplating non-metallic parts, from post 3D printed or machined parts, from surface preparation (chemical and physical) to testing and delivery of the final product to all safety measures

(b) co-develop the lab layout and flow plan of (a), including electronic and hard copy record development, safety approvals from within the MIDE safety review committee and initial identification of supplies required

(c) executing plan/processes from (a) and (b) to achieve a functioning electroplating lab with formal measurement and report output to deliver to the local customer with their part

(d) perform actual electroplating, report generation and documentation and liaising, per requests from Joe Crow, Roy Allen or directly from the MIDE machine shop

Project II – Battery Measurements

(e) co-develop the standard-operating-procedures for novel battery testing

(f) setup the lab and flow of (e), including intake documentation of the batteries, to electronic and hard copy record development to safety approval of the testing procedures from within the MIDE safety review committee and identification of supplies required

(g) execute plan/processes from (e) and (f) to achieve a functioning battery test lab with formal measurement and report output to deliver to the customer; batteries will be inventoried and stored or returned to the requester.

(h) perform actual battery testing report generation and documentation and liaising, per requests from Anthony Caruso
