Director, Enrollment Research and Analytics

The University of Utah (the U), the state’s flagship institution of higher learning and a major teaching and research university seeks an experienced, strategic and collaborative leader to serve as its next Director of Enrollment Research and Analytics.

The new director will provide critical analysis of the University’s new student enrollment trends and create models to predict enrollment. The director will develop and maintain a reporting library for efforts aimed at enrollment forecasting and the assessment of recruitment initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will assess scholarship and financial aid targeting strategies and develop accompanying predictive models. The director will assist leadership across enrollment management (which includes admissions, financial aid and scholarships, orientation and the registrar) in the optimization of data to inform strategy. With the Office of Budget & Institutional Analysis, the incumbent will work closely and collaboratively to ensure common data definitions, best practices and that shared reporting principles are observed.

The successful candidate will possess a strategic understanding of the integral role of enrollment analytics in supporting new student enrollment, student success and net tuition revenue; will be adept at identifying, designing, and carrying out the research and analysis required for complex decisions; and will have a track record of ensuring organizations make sound, evidence-based decisions and of promoting strategic alignment. An ability to develop strong relationships with other campus offices and leaders will be key, as will a genuine enthusiasm for this work. A master's degree is required for this position.
