This position is open to current SDSU employees only.Position SummaryThe Office of Housing Administration (OHA) is responsible for planning, providing and administering housing services and facilities for over 8,000 students. This includes the operation of residence halls and apartments, off-campus housing and conference housing. Housing Administration supports the educational mission of the Residential Education Office (REO) while providing the business operations for all housing-related functions in support of a quality environment to enhance the student's educational experience.The Housing Coordinator, under the supervision of the Hospitality Manager coordinates all aspects of housing-related to isolation and quarantine protocols for the Office of Housing Administration. The Housing Coordinator possesses thorough knowledge of the Housing Administration policies, procedures, regulations, philosophies, and programs to provide assistance and coordination with continuity of information to residents, parents, campus departments and the public. The incumbent is accountable for the office workflow and completion of work including logistics, student moves, keys, room turns, custodial and maintenance coordination and coordination with dining. The Housing Coordinator also provides clerical support for the general office as required and may be assigned other duties as necessary.For more information regarding Housing Administration, click here.There are two vacancies for on-site positions working either Wednesday – Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm or Wednesday – Sunday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm with limited ability for telework.The positions are full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before May 31, 2021. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.Preferred Qualifications Exceptional customer service skillsExperience working in hospitality and/or student housingKnowledge of the university infrastructure, policies, and proceduresSpecialized SkillsAbility to work on campus supporting students in isolation and quarantineAbility to work evening and weekendsAbility to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not existAbility to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situationsAbility to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work areaCompensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,352 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,115 - $5,639 per month.
