Position Description:
Under the direction of the Director of the Excellence in Pedagogy and Innovative Classrooms (EPIC) Program in collaboration with the EPIC Faculty Co-Directors, the Pedagogy and Instructional Technology Specialist develops and implements humanities-based pedagogical projects and initiatives related to the major investments and activities of the EPIC Program. EPIC is an initiative from UCLA's Division of Humanities funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. It seeks to create an infrastructure that drives continual pedagogical improvement among faculty and engage undergraduates in innovative and inclusive learning environments that demonstrate the value of a humanities education.

The incumbent's main functions include but are not limited to supporting EPIC Directors in developing, delivering, and assessing high quality in-person, hybrid, and remote workshops on teaching pedagogies; supporting faculty undergoing curricular and course development process; consulting with instructors on effective practices in teaching and learning across a range of learning environments with an emphasis on inclusive and equitable teaching practices; and developing online modules and resources on pedagogical topics related to humanities instruction. The incumbent will also provide assistance in implementing language pedagogy-related resource development and on-going language instructor training.
