Minimum Requirements Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of seven years' of professional or administrative experience to include minimum of four years' of educational program or similar experience OR High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization is required and a minimum of ten years' of professional or administrative experience to include minimum of six years' of educational program or similar experienceKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of four years' of directly relevant educational program experience to include minimum of two years' of educational program or similar experience
  • Extensive knowledge of MCG policies and procedures
  • Experience with RRC and ACGME guidelines
Responsibilities This position is primarily responsible for the General Surgery Residency Training Program. The program has between thirty to thirty-five surgical residents at any given time based on interns and residents from Ft. Gordon. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Residency training program support including maintaining database and monitoring compliance with requirements. Coordination of all aspects of the General Surgery Residency which includes general surgery residents, and interns.
  • Resident Recruiting:
    • Screen incoming inquiries, organize, and respond with appropriate information
    • Process all incoming letters and applications
    • Prepare responses as directed
    • Make arrangements for candidate interviews
  • Program Data:
    • Maintain, submit database of resident care experience
    • ERAS
    • Produce reports for monitoring progress of residents and supporting data for graduating residents
  • Program Reviews:
    • Process resident evaluations of faculty
    • Process faculty evaluations of residents
    • Complete questionnaires for site visits
    • Arrange site visits
  • Other Resident Support:
    • Coordinates weekly and monthly conferences
    • Facilitate monthly journal club meetings
    • Maintains resident library
    • Processes resident travel and monitor reimbursement
    • Responsible for for grant manuscript(s)
    • Coordinates ABSITE meetings and evaluations
    • Coordinates Grand Round speakers and conferences and coordinates mock oral examinations
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
