College Advising Corps - Boston University (CAC-BU) is an affiliate of College Advising Corps, a national non-profit organization that works to increase the rates of college enrollment and completion among low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented high school students. CAC-BU AmeriCorps College Advisers are well-trained, recent college graduates who serve full-time in a high-need Boston-area high school. Advisers support students to navigate the complex processes of college admissions and matriculation and securing financial aid; foster a college-going culture within the schools they serve; serve for 1-2 years in a paid AmeriCorps service position and receive a living allowance as well as a benefits package including health and dental, educational award and tuition remission. A bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) is required for this position, preferably earned in May 2021, December 2020, May 2020, or December 2019. Bachelors degree graduates of a Boston-area college or university, Boston natives who earned their bachelors degree outside Boston, or bachelors degree graduates of other College Advising Corps partner institutions are also preferred.
