This is a senior leadership position within the Facilities Management Division of the Office of Finance and Administration. This position reports to the Senior Director for Services The Director manages the daily operations of the FMD Work Request Center and Supplies and Materials Department. This includes budgetary and personnel authority over each department. It directs facilities strategies with campus constituents to ensure process improvement with FMD work management services and functions as FMD’s point of contact for campus work processes and scope of work matters. The position also provides oversight of the inventory management process for the warehouse, including regular cycle counts and annual comprehensive inventory. Additionally, the position directs the material issue and reprocurement process for all preventive maintenance, custodial supplies and the majority of repair materials. The position has management of the NAPA Integrated Business Solution contract agreement that provides repair part support to the automotive center and bus maintenance, and soon to be expanded to include grounds maintenance equipment part support.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
- Understanding of building systems and structure requirements related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, utility systems, and building codes related to ADA.
- Knowledge of construction processes and various construction procurement methodologies and building codes.

Provide overall managerial oversight for Work Request Center and Material and Supplies. Set the strategic direction for the group, as well as ensure the group’s operational components are performing effectively and efficiently. Identify and implement best practices for the department and develop metrics to evaluate and manage performance as well as bring innovation and emerging trends to the department.Percentage of time:
Develop, engage staff and customers to ensure satisfactory customer experience. Answer questions and provide data based feedback to ensure facilities work progress is shared between FMD, end users and other stakeholders. To include work processes to ensure satisfactory customer service related to UGA FMD facilities issues.Percentage of time:
Oversee human resources management, implementation of training and quality control. Monitor staffing needs to ensure most efficient use of resources. Collaborate with FMD Human Resources to ensure proper hiring and evaluation of all assigned employees. Develop and implement work standards and training that contribute to the personal and professional development of employees and maintain high quality standards.Percentage of time:
