JOB SUMMARY

This position will support the implementation and use of the undergraduate student Orientation reservation system (VisualZen Orientation), and other related systems for Storrs and the Regional Campuses, (Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford and Waterbury). Early morning, evening and weekend hours during Orientation periods are typical.

This position will report to the director of the Storrs Orientation Program and be housed in the Orientation Office on the Storrs campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the functional liaison between the Orientation programs at Storrs and the regional campuses and the VisualZen (VZ) Orientation Support team.
  • Coordinates the implementation and usage of the VisualZen (VZ) Online Orientation Reservation System for all campuses for each Orientation cycle, spring/summer and winter.
  • Responds to requests for assistance and troubleshoots issues that arise with the VZ Orientation systems at all campuses.
  • Assists in the testing of the VZ orientation system for all campuses.
  • Prepares and delivers training on the Orientation system to users across the campuses. May involve traveling to each campus.
  • Maintains an understanding of the VZ Orientation systems, and the functions and processes of the Orientation programs across all the campuses.
  • Serves as a resource in the design and testing of the VZ Orientation systems for improving processes.
  • Provides institutional-level user troubleshooting and support.
  • Coordinates the function of generating periodic orientation reservation data reports for each of the campuses
  • Plans for and implements future VZ Orientation reservation system changes across all campuses.
  • Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Three years of related experience in business processes
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Background in working with cross-functional team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and experience using VisualZen (VZ) Orientation database or similar program.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
