Job Description:

The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for developing, administering, and monitoring academic policy, records management, registration processes, classroom and examination scheduling, enrollment planning and student information technology. Comprehensive automated systems support almost every function and process.

This position manages the course and room scheduling area of the office, including campus-wide schedule creation, assignment of centrally controlled class room space, and maintenance of the university curriculum record. In addition, the position is responsible for facilitating the student information system integration between the Office of the University Registrar and the campus community. This position is responsible for the creation and management of term and session calendars which propagate and drive functions throughout the university.

Manages and oversees daily operations of the course and room scheduling area, including overall supervision of area staff and coordination of training of all campus users. Provides support to entire office in researching issues within the area.

Researches and analyzes complex problems related to course and room scheduling for more than 30,000 sections and 200 classrooms and auditoria annually. Recommends and implements resolution where appropriate. Continually reviews area procedures and systems, including campus-wide section creation, with intent to streamline and improve overall efficiency. Works with the Assistant University Registrar to recommend and implement systems enhancements.

Serves as an interface between the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) and the campus community for student information system assessment and enhancement requests related to the course and room scheduling processes... Coordinates Registrar function changes made to the student information system infrastructure. Serves as primary liaison between functional users and UF Information Technology development team for development and automation of area processes determining enhancements, assigning priorities, developing long term strategies in conjunction with management team, and coordinating testing, documentation, and implementation. Provides data expertise to faculty and staff and technical support to functional users.

Responsible for coordinating activities relating to student information system development to include project tracking and analysis. Develop and maintain tables that drive student record system functions. Codes and analyzes data and generates reports summarizing data for review. Ensures adherence to quality standards, data integrity, procedures and best practices

Conducts research to support institutional research and data gathering for university-required reports. Provides expertise, support and coordination for updating web sites as well as creating and publishing data used by university administrators.

Responsible for the creation and management of term and session calendars in the student information system which propagate and drive functions throughout the university. Coordinate with colleges, departments and other administrative office both within and outside the division to be sure that calendars are received and processed in a timely manner and with all ramifications of the related changes in mind to avoid disruption to the impacted students.

Assists with the coordination of all major new projects within the Office of the University Registrar. Researches and analyzes complex problems related to student records and registration. Recommends and implements appropriate resolutions. Cross-trained to provide supervisor support throughout the office. Performs other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$50,000.00 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with the academic process.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft student information system.
  • Familiarity with comma separated files, an understanding of data formatting and Microsoft tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with report writing software, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relations with others.
