Job Description:

40% - Harvesting, fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of paraffin and frozen sections. Quality control (QC) of all processes following Good Laboratory Practice standard operating procedures (SOP).

5% - Special staining (PAS, PAS-D, AF-H&E, etc.)

35% - Immunolocalization (enzyme, fluorescent) for proteins using multiple primary and secondary antibodies with troubleshooting ability.

5% - Immunolocalization for DNA/RNA using in situ hybridization. Provide consultation with submitters regarding experimental design and selection of optimal probe type to maximum outcomes.

10% - Microscopy and digital slide scanning with image analysis for collecting and evaluating special stains or immunolocalization data accumulated in ongoing research and preparing statistical analysis of the image analysis.

5% - Maintenance of laboratory records, performing literature and product searches, data entry into lab databases. Maintenance of laboratory equipment according to SOP, reagent preparation, proper disposal of chemicals/ biological material, and overall general maintenance. Assist the research manager and supervisor with other tasks as needed.

Expected Salary:

$19.73/hr.

Minimum Requirements:

Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field; or a masters degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in histology and immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence including multiple labeling immunoassays, microscopy (direct and fluorescence), and techniques related to both histology and immunolocalization.
