Job Description Summary
The position provides high-level administrative support and project management to Schools/Centers. The incumbent will engage in a wide range of activities including budget management, administrative support, interaction with students, faculty, and staff on campus and at local events. The position also interacts with senior administrators, prospects, donors, faculty, alumni, board members, and senior government and corporate executives. The position includes budget oversight of a wide variety of programs involving multiple travelers and currencies as well as preparing staff for domestic and international travel. Generally included in confidential, ongoing cross divisional projects as directed by the Dean/Department Leader's Office program. The Administrative Coordinator interacts with important external constituents, and therefore must prioritize while delivering a very high level of service. Responsible for developing and maintaining communications, fielding inquiries, and guiding both graduate students and faculty through a variety of University policies, resources, and procedures.

Job Description

Recent college graduates who have demonstrated a strong commitment to global affairs are invited to apply for a Research Fellow position at Perry World House. The position provides recent graduates with up to a two-year-long opportunity to conduct research, engage on global public policy issues, and support the intellectual and programmatic dimensions of Perry World House, Penn's hub for international policy research and global engagement. Fellows will be expected to play a critical role at Perry World House. This will include research on areas related to Perry World House's core mission, policy-relevant research, and by helping to prepare various types of intellectual outputs. Past fellows have published their research in a number of policy relevant outlets. It also involves working to implement two signature, competitive student-engagement programs: the World House Student Fellows Program and the Graduate Associates Program. Over time, Fellows will also focus on providing research and programmatic support to our two inaugural research themes. The first theme is The Future of the Global Order: Power, Technology and Governance. It examines the implications of changing global power dynamics, impacts of new technologies, and contributions of governance institutions for the future of international cooperation. It also includes a sub-thematic focus on how emerging technologies are shaping global politics. The second theme is Global Shifts: Urbanization, Migration, and Demography, which focuses on trends in migration, urbanization, demographic change, and what cities can do to mitigate the impacts of climate change and lead efforts for a more sustainable future. In addition, Fellows will support general student programming, particularly through efforts to expand PWH's engagement with Penn undergraduates, and provide general administrative office and programmatic support to Perry World House to carry out its public programming.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Candidate should have a strong interest in global affairs as demonstrated through course of study and/or work experience is highly encouraged, including as demonstrated through internships or travel abroad experience. Candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Candidate should have excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, as well as strong oral presentation, organizational, and overall communications skills. Candidate should work well with others, and be self-motivated. Knowledge of Penn preferred. Candidate should also have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Word. This is a two year term position
