IT Technical Specialist IV

Regular Full-time 

Acts as a customer liaison between OIT and University departments or associated entities to determine their telephony and network needs.  Oversees the planning, design, coordination, support and installation of telephony and network equipment and services.  Coordinates with other University entities to provide required telephone and network requirements for capital projects.  

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides technical assistance, instruction, and consultation for the resolution of problems
Possesses and maintains technical knowledge of telephony and networking systems in order to provide user support and design solutions
Possesses and maintains an advanced knowledge of customer management system/database, specifically Communications systems platforms, in order to provide support to users
Attend software classes & seminars
Provide analytical support for the Communications Group 
Research documentation for solutions
Evaluate troubles and escalate to vendor support
Work with vendors and on site engineering to resolve problems
 



QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:

Education and Skills:
High School Diploma and 4 years’ experience in telecommunications field required. 
Bachelors and experience in higher education telecommunications delivery and design preferred.
