Transfer Student Center Director
Job description
Transfer Student Center Director
University of California Los Angeles
Requisition Number: 33043
Salary: $4,842 - $9,591 monthly
Position Description:
The mission of the UCLA Transfer Student Center (TSC) is to provide transfer students with resources and programming that connects them to the university and supports them so they can achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. The TSC Director provides strategic vision and leadership for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the programming and activities in the Center. Due to the fact that the transfer student community contains many diverse groups (e.g., international students, LGBT students, racially and ethnically underrepresented students) that have been identified as vulnerable and in need of targeted mental health interventions (see the 2006 UCOP Final Report from the Student Mental Health Committee), the TSC Director is responsible for the development of programs and services that support mental health, stress management, and creating healthier learning communities at the university.
The TSC Director oversees daily operations of the center, including managing and enhancing center resources such as professional and student staff, space, equipment, and technology. In addition, the TSC Director establishes the vision for center programs and activities; marketing and communication efforts; collaboration with other campus departments; and partnerships with transfer-specific and connected student groups. The TSC Director provides leadership, education, and advocacy on the UCLA campus regarding the distinctive experiences, challenges, needs and of transfer students. Furthermore, the TSC Director will establish programs and services that target the health and well-being of the transfer student community, specifically in the areas of targeted mental health interventions for vulnerable groups.
The TSC Director sets goals that align with the mission and strategic priorities of Student Affairs and the greater campus.
