Job Summary
The Front Desk Student Assistant coordinates functions related to Continuing & Professional Education (CPE) that includes the following job duties: greeting and assisting students/customers in registration and payment of CPE classes, inspecting and ensuring all classroom, meeting, and lobby/hallway spaces are prepared as specified and are operationally ready for scheduled events to include moving all furniture/supplies back to their proper space when the event/class is complete. Student Assistant will provide direct technical and audio/visual support. Individual usually reports to the Operations Coordinator/Manager and may also assist with filing, social media posts, marketing, event set up and other job duties that may be assigned.
Responsibilities
Provide customer service support at the main desk including greeting students/customers and providing excellent service; be knowledgeable about CPE programs/classes and events and be able to assist students/customers in answering questions; ensure that interior and exterior building furniture, equipment, and infrastructure are orderly and prepared for every class/event daily; completing accurate and timely registrations in on-line registration software; ability to lift 50 pounds and set up/clean up classrooms/events and ability to operate technical and audio-visual equipment.
Required Qualifications
Provide excellent customer service to constituents; knowledge of administrative and office support; ability to work in a team and support the efforts of the team; able to work in Microsoft Office products and capable of learning new software; and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; must be actively enrolled and attending classes at Columbus State University and requires prior customer service experience.
Proposed Salary
This position can work up to 25 hours per week at a rate of $7.50 per week.
