Job Summary
The School of Nursing in Columbus State University's College of Education and Health Professions invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor of Nursing. The start date for this position is January 1, 2021.

The School of Nursing at Columbus State University graduates a diverse body of nearly 150 students annually. It offers a traditional BSN for students seeking an RN license and three online degree programs: an RN-BSN for licensed RNs with an Associate degree; a Master's of Science in Nursing (education, leadership, and information tracks); and a Master's of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner. Both MSN programs are offered in collaboration with Georgia Southwestern State University. International opportunities are available as study abroad in Ireland, and a student service in Ecuador. Currently, over 85 percent of our nursing graduates pass the NCLEX, the National Nursing Licensure Exam, a testament to the quality of the program and faculty.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include: teaching undergraduate nursing courses, face-to-face and online as well as in clinical and simulation lab settings; mentoring students; working collaboratively with area clinical and hospital staff; performing service and administrative tasks necessary to ensure excellence in nursing education at Columbus State University; and contributing to scholarly activity in the field through research, presentation, and publications. The successful candidate will be able to foster an environment of professionalism and collaboration, work in continuous improvement of nursing education, demonstrate exceptional ability to function as part of a team with university faculty and the community of practice, and engage in practices that support the University's focus on student engagement and active learning.

Required Qualifications
A Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university is required. The successful candidate must possess at least three years of quality nursing experience in a medical-surgical or specialty environment; be licensed or eligible for RN licensure in Georgia; have experience working with diverse populations; and possess an understanding of technology as a tool for effective teaching.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have an earned Doctorate in Nursing or a related field; evidence of successful teaching at the college level in both traditional, simulation, and online environments; possess previous leadership experience in the academic and/or clinical environment; and knowledge/experience with CCNE accreditation.
