Job Description
University of Maryland, Baltimore, department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a Biostatistition as a contractual C1 position (10-15hrs per week).

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Responsible for analyzing data through statistical approaches to support Draw conclusions or make predictions based on data summaries or statistical analyses.
• Design research studies in collaboration with faculty investigators.
• Using SAS, STATA and/or R, analyze data through statistical approaches such as longitudinal analysis, mixed effect modeling, logistic regression analyses, and model building techniques.
• Prepare manuscript drafts for publication and presentation at professional conferences.
• Calculate power and sample size calculations for observational studies.
• Write detailed analysis plans and descriptions of analyses and findings for research protocols or reports.
• Design and implement data collection tools on eHealth platforms.
• Develop Access databases to collect raw data.
• Develop code to review transcription errors and create clean merged SAS and/or Stata databases from Access databases.
• Access databases remotely and trouble shoot errors in data collection/transcription.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.


Qualifications
Education: Master's degree statistics or mathematics

Experience: Two (2) years of statistical analysis experience analyzing studies using a range of statistical techniques in a biological science environment.

Other: Master's degree epidemiology or public health and three (3) years of statistical analysis experience analyzing studies using a range of statistical techniques in a biological science environment.
