General Purpose
Manage and maintain data used in support of analytical and/or research projects with the School of Medicine Duke Office of Clinical Research (DOCR). Provide training and mentorship to Duke community and fellow programmers.
Supervisor
This position reports to the Manager, Information Systems.
Essential Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain databases (REDCap, Access) for multiple studies. Assist and advise study teams regarding data collection best practices. Test and debug projects to verify their accuracy and completeness; maintAain and revise existing projects to ensure operating proficiency or to adapt to new study requirements. Reprogram/modify the database as needed in order to collect all required study data.
Education/Training Requirements
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in mathematics or computer-related field, or equivalent coursework or technical training.
Experience
Work requires one year of programming or analytical experience with knowledge of several computer languages, programs or systems OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
Skills
Strong preference for candidates proficient in SAS or SPSS programming.
