OPS-Sponsored Projects Non-Clerical

Conducting molecular biological and biochemical experiments on KSHV, Tissue culture, General laboratory and equipment maintenance, safety inspections, EHS and IACUC protocols

Starting salary range is $12.00 - $14.00 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

A Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related field. Appropriate college course work or technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred candidates are expected to have at lease one year of molecular biology related bench work experience. Trainings will be given.

Experience in the following techniques will be prioritized:
1. Handling DNA cloning and purification
2. Handling mammalian tissue culture techniques.
3. Handling virus production and purification
4. Design PCR or qRT-PCR primers and perform experiments
5. Perform Immunoblot or immunoprecipitation experiments

The ideal candidate will be able to design experiments, research literature, interpret and analyze the data, solve technical problems, maintain the equipment and general supplies and cooperate well with other members in the lab.
