DESCRIPTION:
The UCLA Marriage & Close Relationships Laboratory is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral Scholar to collaborate on conducting research and developing theory related to understanding the role of adult friendships in well-being. Broad objectives of ongoing projects include evaluating individuals' primary social relationships (i.e., intimate relationships, family relationships, and friendships) and their associations with well-being and life satisfaction, with particular emphasis on relationship satisfaction and subjective well-being in married couples. We are seeking candidates who are interested in contributing to our ongoing projects, while developing their own ideas in this domain as well. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be expected to contribute to writing co-authored manuscripts based on data collected by members of our research team. Ability to work independently, as well as to supervise and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students, is essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ph.D. in Social Psychology or a related sub-discipline within psychology
  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with research on social relationships and/or life satisfaction
  • Facility with data analysis (latent class methods a plus)
