Position Description:
Under the direction of the Department Manager, serve as the senior financial analyst for the Department of Sociology. Coordinate all aspects of accounting for a combined budget of approximately $8 million. Manage all purchasing and ledger/account reconciliation. Prepare monthly and annual budget reports for Manager, Chair, and Faculty on a regular basis. Approve all travel reimbursements, ensuring that the proper grants are charged. Make relocation arrangements for new faculty as needed. Prepare relocation packets. Oversee maintenance records of telephone and photocopy expenses and ensure that the proper grants are charged. Oversee preparation of all intercampus payments and ensure department deposit transmittals are credited to the correct accounts. Manage the sales and service account and ensure that activity complies with university policies and procedures. Manage and maintain database of all extramural and intramural funds; ensure that reporting mechanisms and expenses are in compliance with the regulations set forth by donors and granting agencies and perform necessary corrections and adjustments. Assist faculty and graduate students with applications for intramural and extramural grants. Interact with OCGA and EFM on submission of grant proposals, management and closeout of awards. Research equipment maintenance agreements as needed to ensure the best price and service contract. Coordinate the hiring process for approximately 60 Research Assistants and work-study students. Ensure that all the forms are in compliance with Corporate Payroll, Graduate Division and work-study policy. Serve as backup preparer and reviewer for all bi-weekly and monthly student employee EDB and PTR. Serve as preparer and reviewer to PAC, EDB, TOF, DDF, PTR, on-line recharges, on-line non-PEARS, Travel Express and Bruinbuy functions. Serve as department DSA.
