Job Description

UMKC Counseling Services is seeking an experienced Staff Multicultural Psychologist and Senior Program Manager. This position will provide a full range of generalist clinical services including individual, couple and group therapy, crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, assessment, supervision, and training. The selected candidate will also have a leadership role working with diversity at our Center. The position will work with other campus entities such as the Multicultural Student Affairs Office to support students that identify as Black, Indigenous, and / or People Of Color (BIPOC). The position will also work with diversity-focused student organizations and groups. The position will help assess the needs and develop innovative programming to support student mental health. The position will assist with training and educating staff, interns and practicum students regarding multicultural competent service delivery. Service provision includes face-to-face and tele-psychological psychotherapeutic services to our community.

The selected candidate may also have a demonstrated interest in an area such as alcohol/drug prevention, Mens Issues, Complex Mental Health Issues, Autism Spectrum, program assessment and evaluation, technology and providing services to a diverse student population.

Essential Job Functions:

    Provides individual therapy, group counseling, crisis intervention, and clinical supervision, outreach, and consultation services to the university community. Provides clinical services to diverse client populations and whose clinical work, supervision, and community intervention is infused with ethical and multicultural competency and who demonstrates clear interest and commitment to all dimensions of diversity. Evidence of strong generalist clinical skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in assessment and intervention with a range of clinical issues and complex diagnostic concerns. Demonstrated knowledge of developmental issues of college students and commitment to student success. Outstanding interpersonal skills demonstrated in speaking, listening, and writing. Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in developing outreach education programming. Consults with faculty and staff regarding student problems, training, program and organizational issues. Represents Counseling Services on University committees and participates in the Division of Student Affairs programs as assigned. Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with colleagues, campus departments, and student organizations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
    A PhD/PsyD degree in Counseling, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field.Active full licensure as a Psychologist or obtain licensure in the State of Missouri within 6 months of hire is requiredThree years of experience working with diverse populations including college age students.Experience working in a University/College Setting.

Salary

$53,600 - $75,000 annual
