General Description:

The Student Accessibility and Support Assistant provides clerical support for the office of Student Accessibility and Support and its essential office functions.

Coordinator of Disability Services

Minimum Education/Experience:

Successful completion of 30 hours of college credit courses.

Two years full time or part time work experience in an office support position.

Applicant required to attach transcript conferring the required credit hours.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated positive human relations and communication skills.

Basic computer literacy.

Working knowledge of MS word, Excel, Outlook

Ability to work flexible hours.

Must be punctual

Must be reliable

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

General office work. Working independently in the office alone.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, some work from home may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with people with disabilities

Required Training:

HR required trainings yearly.

Work Hours:

Monday – Thursday 1pm – 6pm
Friday 12pm – 5pm

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):

Emphasis on providing clerical assistance to Disability Services within Student Accessibility and Support.

Assembles, organizes information, materials, and forms and carries to completion assigned activities for Student Accessibility and Support.

Assists students with services available in Student Accessibility and Support office.

Maintain and update staff schedules and other information to assist students.

Provide with speed and accuracy general clerical support for professionals within Student Accessibility and Support.

Communicate complete, concise information about Student Accessibility and Support and direct and assist students with information about other areas within Student Services.

Serves as backup receptionist for Student Accessibility and Support as needed.

Effectively interacts with the public, College personnel, and students when providing information and assistance regarding programs, services, and operations.

Advise and support the Director of Student Accessibility and Support and other members of the Student Accessibility and Support team.

Job Duties (Safety / Policy & Procedures):

Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.

Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.

Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.

Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
