Hiring Department Electrical and Computer Engineering Application DeadlinePosted until filled - for full consideration, apply by February 1, 2021 Full Time/Part TimeFull-Time (1.0 FTE) Job DescriptionThe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking outstanding applicants for a Research Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) in the area of sensors and instrumentation working in the Lightwave Technology Laboratory (LTL Lab). Preference will be given to applicants who can contribute to the research needs in advanced sensors such as fiber optic sensors, coaxial cable sensors, or other types of sensor platforms for applications in medical health. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or other related engineering areas, with a strong background in optical physics, microwave engineering, and electronics along with knowledge of the development and use of optical and radiofrequency sensors. Successful candidates will be expected to have strong commitments to (a) contributing to the departmental and college research efforts, (b) having a high degree of synergism and collaborating on research within the Missouri S&T LTL Laboratory directed by Dr. Jie Huang, (c) service in the applicant’s professional community and our institution, and (d) increasing the diversity of both the student body and faculty. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in performing funded research and increasing diversity. The ECE department has 36 faculty members, approximately 500 undergraduate and 200 graduate students, and had research expenditures of approximately $5M in the past fiscal year.
