Job Summary

Supervise and participate in providing graphic design direction on Institute Communications projects. Help to prepare graphics for Institute level publications including, but not limited to recruitment materials, Development campaign materials, formal presentations, brochures, technical illustrations, posters and animations. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty, staff, students, alumni and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: department leadership, internal staff, faculty, staff and students. This position will supervise: unit staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Manage, motivate and inspire team members, set project goals and schedules, provide constructive feedback to both the design team and clients.

Job Duty 2 -
Manage design freelance projects by assisting Client Managers, selecting appropriate vendors, defining scope, scheduling, and managing quality of final product.

Job Duty 3 -
Plan, research, conceptualize and create visual communications.

Job Duty 4 -
Create print and digital collateral for Institute-wide development campaigns.

Job Duty 5 -
Stay current on best practices in graphics design processes and software programs.

Job Duty 6 -
Manage Institute Visual Identity production and implementation.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Design, Communications, Graphic Arts or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of presentation and electronic publishing processes and applications; Expert knowledge of desktop publishing software, graphics editor, office and other creative applications; Working knowledge of the printing process, as well as content-management systems, standard markup language, and style sheet language; Strong skills in multitasking, presentation, and collaboration.
