Position Summary:The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina Children’s is recruiting a Clinical Assistant Professor in the General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine division. This division includes a wide range of clinical services, a long history of important research, a central educational role and active advocacy.
Current clinical care includes a primary care clinic, adolescent medicine specialty care, diagnostic referral clinic, complex care program, and clinics addressing behavioral and mental health. Additionally, the division contains the Section of Child Maltreatment which includes 2 outpatient clinics and an outreach site, inpatient consultations, and a state-funded educational program that assures the quality of evaluations across the state. Funded research currently includes social determinants of health, children with medical complexity including transitions and care systems, health equity and disparities, adolescent health issues, quality improvement scholarship and violence and injury prevention.
Specific requirements for competitive applicants include being board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and having fellowship or equivalent post-residency training. This position entails clinical service in the diagnostic and/or primary care clinics as well other areas of clinical need in the division. There is an opportunity for a small amount of time supported for research grant writing for applicants with high likelihood of future independent funding.
