Job Description:

This position will be expected to use their expertise to contribute to accomplish the goals of the Nature Coast Aquatic Preserve (NCAP) and adjacent Aquatic Preserves. Specifically, this position will be expected to:

-Participate in NCAP water quality and natural resource monitoring. Follow field and lab procedures in accordance with SOPs.

-Participate in water quality and natural resource data entry. Enter data according to appropriate format and QA/QC plans. Assist with the preparation of quarterly reports and data summaries.

-Participate in NCAP management tasks such as:
Support NCAP Management Plan development
Stakeholder education and communication

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in biology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field.

Valid Florida driver license

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate training (MS, PhD) in related area. ABD will be considered.
Five years of research experience in marine and estuarine ecosystems.
Knowledge of scientific methods including experimental design, data collection, and statistical and/or spatial analyses, especially for applied management applications.
Experience in both field and laboratory-oriented procedures, especially those relevant to water quality and benthic habitat sampling in shallow water (e.g., outboard motor and airboat operation, instrument calibration, seagrass transect and quadrat experience).
High-level communication skills, both oral and written
