Job Description:

Independently prepares, tracks, and processes all aspects of HR transactions to include: appointments, job edits and terminations of TEAMS, OPS and Volunteers. Obtains clearance for offer, submits background checks, and medical requests for applicable positions. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and UF rules and regulations. Initiates badge requests, e-mail account requests, IT access requests and Onboarding/Offboarding requests for new hires as necessary. Initiate payroll distributions for new employees and ensure that all distributions are accurate according to funding source and academic appointment. Provides assistance to staff and faculty to assure that hiring is completed according to UF policies and procedures. This includes development of new position descriptions, reviewing current position descriptions/posting requests for accuracy, confirming that requested salary stays within COM and budgetary guidelines, posting the requisition and assisting with processing of the applicant pool. This position also monitors completion of outside employment forms and completion of dual employment requests for current employees. Working with faculty and COM HR, this position will also initiate and process all Employment of Relative requests for Volunteer appointments and/or non-faculty hires. Routinely provides assistance with resolution to various employee concerns and questions regarding employment, time and leave, payroll, benefits, etc.Process leave cash-out and contract buy-out requests for Teams employees as necessary Working closely with COM HR, advise faculty and staff on and process special pay increase and reclassification requests for TEAMS employees. Ensure that position descriptions are updated and correct in PeopleSoft and salaries remain within Departmental and COM budgetary constraints. Track OPS hours for possible OPS to Teams transitions or terminations. Review, interpret and implement Federal, State, and University of Florida laws, rules, and regulations regarding all aspects of Labor law and Human Resource management. Assure all employees and volunteers are in compliance with State, UF, COM, and Professional training requirements. This includes HIPPA, Compliance and Sexual Harassment trainings. Assure compliance with federal, state and agency policies, preparing special reports for Director and Principal Investigators. Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing, and actions related to Graduate Assistants, Student Assistants, Visa processing and other responsibilities as needed.

Expected Salary:

$43,000 - $50,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with UF HR processes strongly preferred. Knowledge of PeopleSoft/PageUp, Interfolio, visa processing and College of Medicine procedures a plus.
