Position Highlights:

The Community Outreach Assistant II will serve as contact tracers responsible for identifying potential close contacts of confirmed COVID19 cases, encouraging these contacts to self-quarantine and self-monitor for 14 days after exposure, and providing the contacts information on how to notify public health staff and their healthcare providers should they develop any symptoms. They will work closely with the tribal health nurse from the Gila River Indian Community Tribal Health Department or Yuma County, to coordinate tracking efforts with local health authorities, utilizing the health department’s data software programs for tracking and follow-up. Members of the Gila River Tribe or community are encouraged to apply.

These positions are variable FTE from .50 - 1.0 contingent on funding and candidate availability. This job requires reliable internet, and access to a telephone and computer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identifymembers of the public who were exposed to patients diagnosed with COVID19.Conduct interviews in a professional manner, establish which individuals thosepatients had contact with, and initiate isolation protocols to limit furtherdisease transmission. Collaborate with designated local authorities. Possiblymaintain ongoing virtual communication to monitor symptoms.
  • Collecting and recordingaccurate information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma orequivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years ofrelevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

*Previous contact tracing experience. *Member of the Gila River Tribe or community. *Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Express, as well as data entry. *Ability to comply with regulations and communicate official information in an appropriate manner. *Excellent interpersonal skills to assist distressed individuals from different cultural backgrounds. *Advanced proficiency in English, additional languages would be advantageous. *Bachelor's degree in Public Health
