Summary of Duties:
The Academic Administrative Assistant provides academic and administrative support to the Physics and Astronomy department in the College of Arts and Sciences. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the department and will be is responsible for the academic coordination on assigned graduate/undergraduate programs, recruitment, admissions, retention, scholarship program, and maintenance of teacher assignments and classes.
Responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to: answer and route all incoming calls, serve as a liaison between the department and outside constituencies, provide academic support to the department, and collaborate with the Department Chair to research and implement recruitment strategies.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Two year’s full-time experience providing support and/or coordinating activities related to student services and/or event planning, prioritizing or scheduling or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage several projects and solve problems for a wide range of complex tasks.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphics, publishing, and communications
Experience working in higher education.
Ability to interpret and apply and communicate rules and processes.

Monthly Salary: $3,144.00 - $4,083.00
