Job Description:

ECU Department of Geography is currently seeking a Computer Lab Assistant in the Y.H. Kim Computing Lab. The Kim Computing lab is the primary drop-in computing facility in the Brewster Building with a total of 60 PCs and Macs. The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of the Kim Computing Lab facilities during drop-in hours. The individual in this position will also assist the Kim Lab director in lab maintenance and in the provision of lab-related computing needs of faculty and students. This position requires the individual to work 15-25 hours per week during the academic year and may require occasional weekend hours.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

This position requires that the applicant be enrolled in an Arts & Sciences undergraduate or graduate program at East Carolina University, preferably one that is housed in the Brewster Building. The applicant must remain in good standing in the program in which he/she is enrolled. The applicant must have some experience with microcomputer based word processors, spreadsheets, database managers, web browsers, and knowledge of GIS software. Microcomputer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
