Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Human Resources Manager. This is an online remote position that may require light travel (15%). The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a point person to staff and faculty regarding but not limited to recruitment, benefits, and other HR related services.
Principal Duties:
Provide full-cycle recruitment support for all open vacancies including posting jobs, pre-screening resumes, scheduling of interviews, extending offers, and running background checks
Respond to inquiries regarding organization’s policies, procedures, and benefits
Assist in the resolution of employee relation matters including disciplinary action and conflict resolution
Maintain confidential employment data, health records, and electronic data utilizing HRIS database
Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate processing of employee information
Support manager of HR in the development and interpretation of policies and procedures
Process tuition reimbursements, employee verifications, and other inquiries
Facilitate the onboarding and exiting process for all employees
Coordinate the processing of annual performance evaluations
Assist with managing the annual contract process
Manage FMLA process
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Create and deliver training programs
Position Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and federal employment law
Prior benefit administration experience
Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of employees through excellent listening and communication skills that engender trust and support
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail
Proficient in MS Office, in particular, MS Word and Excel
Previous experience with HRIS databases (Workday referred)
Previous experience with Applicant Tracking System
At least two years of generalist experience (higher education a plus)
