Title: Associate Director, Recruiting and Admissions - Graduate Accountancy Programs, Accountancy

Primary Position Function/Summary:

Responsible for leading the people, processes, and tools needed to successfully recruit and admit the proper mix and number of high quality students each year into Graduate Accountancy Programs, including the MAS and MSA programs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruiting

*Lead the development, management and execution of recruiting strategy for each recruiting cycle for Graduate Accountancy Programs, focused on attracting a diverse pool of qualified candidates both internal and external to the University of Illinois

*Meet the enrollment goals for Graduate Accountancy Programs while maintaining the program standards

*Design and implement a strategy to attract domestic students to Graduate Accountancy Programs

*Recruit, and provide counseling and guidance to domestic and international prospective students

*Nurture the pipeline of candidates for Graduate Accountancy Programs

*Develop partnerships with external universities, organizations and agencies that will enhance the student pipeline

*Leverage opportunities by collaborating with University/College leadership and academic divisions

*Establish a high quality experience for the interested candidates in Graduate Accountancy Programs

*Deliver internal and external public presentations promoting Graduate Accounting Programs by participating in Graduate Fairs both in person and virtual, as well as hosting information session and attending other recruitment events as needed

*Coordinate efforts with other staff members to implement recruitment and admissions plans, including supervising student workers

*Some night and weekend obligations as well as occasional domestic and international travel for recruiting events, etc.

*Exudes excellent knowledge of admissions and recruiting software program for both recruiting and admission

*Work closely with the Gies Marketing and Communication unit to set up marketing strategies and monitor budget spending.

Admissions

*Act as a liaison, along with the Academic Director, Program Director, and Admissions and Records Officer, to the Graduate College throughout the admissions process, utilizing admissions and recruiting software program.

*Along with support staff, and utilizing admissions and recruiting software program, provide student recruitment and admissions data

*Monitor yield issues and create strategies and tactics to maximize yield

*Perform information and assessment interviews of potential candidates as needed

*Support admission process and nurturing of applicants through enrollment

* Assist the Academic Director and Program Director with scholarship and financial aid decisions

Miscellaneous

*While primary duties will be focused on recruitment and enrollment, part of the role could include student services programming for admitted students

*Help maintain databases and other tools for meeting the team goals

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred: MBA or other relevant master’s degree preferred

Experience:

Required: Five years of professional experience with at least three years of experience in recruitment, admissions, or relationship sales. Years may run concurrently.

Preferred: Experience within accountancy programs; higher educational experience; graduate recruitment experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and proven success in managing across multiple stakeholders. Must demonstrate a service-oriented attitude for working with faculty and students. Working knowledge of computer-related databases and office-related software. Experience working with a diverse population. Knowledge of or ability to learn admissions and recruiting software programs such as Slate.

Appointment Status:

This is a full-time (100%), benefits-eligible academic professional position appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Research

Students and scholars find the University an ideal place to conduct research. The Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology is a model for interdisciplinary research, where eighteen research groups from sixteen University departments work within and across three broadly defined themes: biological intelligence, human-computer intelligent interaction, and molecular and electronic nanostructures. Undergraduate Education

The University has a fundamental commitment to undergraduate education. Nearly 28,000 undergraduate students are enrolled in nine undergraduate divisions, which together offer some 4,000 courses in more than 150 fields of study.

Undergraduate admission is highly selective. In the 2001 freshman class, students in the middle 50% had ACT scores between 25 and 30 and ranked between the 83rd and 96th percentiles of their high school graduating classes.

The Arts
