Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Social Media Specialist will organize efforts to promote the college on social media under a unified brand and communications strategy. This position is an integral part of the Marketing & Public Affairs team and collaborates with departments and units across the college who are active on social media.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Write clear, creative, and clean work in a fast-pasted environment.
  • Develop visual content independently or integrate content from the MPA team.
  • Coordinate and post original, engaging, and branded content across all LC social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, and Twitter.
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules for social content.
  • Work within budget to optimize targeted advertising campaigns.
  • Inspire brand ambassadors across the college to share content.
  • Integrate the goals and strategies of college fundraising efforts.
  • Produce metrics to measure the success of social media campaigns.
  • Listen across social media platforms for students needing to connect with admissions or advising staff members and helping them to do so.
  • Coordinate with the owners of social media accounts affiliated with the college and communicate best practices and branding strategies.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits do not accrue with this part-time position. Work schedule is not to exceed 19.5 hours per week. This is a security sensitive position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • Six (6) months of related work experience
  • Must be capable of managing multiple tasks, evolving priorities, and quick deadlines
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills, be familiar with AP style, and demonstrate proficiency with Adobe Creative
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s (or higher) degree or successful completion of sixty (60) college credit hours
