Advertised Job Summary:

The Assistant Director for Compliance and Quality Control will serve as the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships’ chief compliance officer. This position will be responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance in federal, state, and institutional aid administration. This involves working within and outside of the Office of Student Financial and Scholarships, as aid administration is an institutional responsibility. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits and reviews. The Assistant Director for Compliance and Quality Control will regularly review office business processes for quality control deficiencies and improved efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years financial aid or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Financial aid administration at a large, complex college or university. Demonstrated history of understanding complex policies, statutes, and regulations. History of attention to detail and resolving difficult situations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable internal and/or external regulatory policies, standards, procedures and controls. Ability to understand information privacy laws, policies, procedures and technology. Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships. Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Ability to analyze data and information in making decisions and solving problems.
