The role of Research Assistant (RA) is a term position, reporting to the Department Chair and Principal Investigator. The RA will work with senior faculty on several ongoing projects about the effects of public financing programs on political participation in municipal elections. This is a wonderful opportunity to work closely with a faculty member and hone research skills. The Research Assistant Duties will include:

  • Developing techniques to check for and quantify data entry and record linkage errors.
  • Cleaning and coding data.
  • Conducting basic descriptive analyses of newly assembled databases.
  • Conducting preliminary literatures reviews and preparing citations.


Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or Graduate level student with skills and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong background in statistics and familiarity with use of statistical software program (Stata).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to write and communicate clearly.
  • Familiarity with disciplinary standards of professionalism
